Happiness is the best medicine

Once upon a time, there was a man named Jack. Jack was a kind man who always smiled, even in the toughest times. He worked hard to provide for his family and always put others before himself.

But one day, everything changed. Jack's wife, Sarah, was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. Jack was devastated by the news and spent many days at her side, holding her hand and praying for her recovery.

Despite the pain and hardship, Jack never lost his happy disposition. He was always upbeat, humming to himself as he worked or walked around the house, even during the darkest times.

But as the days turned into weeks and then months, Jack began to feel a change in himself. He started to notice things that he had never noticed before. The colors of the sky were brighter, the sunsets more beautiful, and even small things like ants on the sidewalk caught his attention.

As Jack continued to pray and support Sarah, he realized that the change in his own happiness was the key to her recovery. If he could just bring a little bit of happiness into her life, it would have an enormous impact on her recovery.

So Jack set out to do just that. He started to sing little melodies to her, soft tunes that filled the room with music. He would tell her stories of his adventures in the world, weaving tales of faraway lands and exciting adventures. And he would always bring a smile to her face with his own happiness.

Sarah began to respond to Jack's efforts, slowly at first, but then more and more. She would smile at him, even when she couldn't speak, and slowly but surely her spirits lifted.

And so, as the months turned into years, Sarah's health continued to improve. She was still in and out of the hospital, but Jack never lost hope that one day, she would be well enough to come home.

And then, one day, Sarah finally did come home. It was a beautiful day, with the sun shining and birds chirping. Jack was outside, playing his flute, when Sarah finally arrived home.

He ran over to her, his smile beaming, and hugged her tightly. "I was so happy to see you!" he said, and Sarah smiled back, tears in her eyes.

As they sat together, roasting marshmallows on the camping trip they had planned, Sarah looked at Jack and thanked him for having the kindest heart. He looked back at her, his eyes shining with love and joy, and knew that he had made a difference in her life.

And so, with the love and support of his family, Jack continued to bring happiness into the lives of those around him. He knew that life was never guaranteed to be perfect, but he always tried to make the best of it.

And as Sarah drifted off to sleep that night, she knew that Jack's own happiness was the best medicine for her own recovery. Together, they would fight the good fight, and always make sure that happiness was readymade, just waiting for them to discover it.
